WHEE. i feel so accomplished today. i have a NEW FOUND LOVE FOR SWIMMING!! :):) i swam 40 "laps" (up and down my curved shaped pool) today even though i only was aiming for 30laps! oh man. swimming is really so addictive once you get the hang of it. on my first 20ish laps, i was just struggling..taking 1 lap at a time..having quite long breaks in between then i started to work on my breathing and it got better :) it was just so cool. like testing TLC (total lung capacity) under water! deep breath, head down and BLOWW everything out. man it's really shiok. i was just so lost in it! by my 26th lap i totally started to get a hang of it man-swimming without goggles!! could finally dip my head underwater once, stroke once and dip again. before that, it was dip head, stroke twice with head above water then dip head again. very inefficient. and cos i wasnt wearing googles, i was too afraid to open my eyes too quickly and each time i did, water seeemed to flow into my mouth as i took a breath before going in. but then, i dunno..somehow, prob with God's wisdom i just started to get it. HAHA the trick is to not open ur eyes so much. just a lil bit when ur head comes out; doesnt matter if vision is blur with water over your eyes cos tt's all the better. all ya have in mind and in sight is your goal. the other end of the pool. and man i love the focusness and concentration that i get when i swim. it's down, breath out+ stroke, up + open eyes slightly+ deep breath, and down again! shiookk :):) it's like all i can see is the goal, all i can hear is the bubbles flowing past my ears. nothing else. just me and the water. woahs. :):) but think i swim quite unglamly la..cos i think i make this deep breath sound when i take my breath before going down again. HAHA but i'm working on that! yeah so after i reached 30 laps, i really couldnt stop. i just wanted to keep going on and on! but i decided to stop after 40 laps so i wont do an overkill and not swim again. HAHA so all tt's left now, is to maintain this man. i realise i've a short interest span. just like rollerblading. i tend to get sooo hypep abt something..but somehow cant sustain it. but this one's gonna be different! i love it! i also got to experience some physiology in action man. was just thinking abt it when i was helping my mom post her letters just now. the reason why i felt so tired during my first few laps was cos i didnt figure out the breathing bit. but once i got it, i was able to aerate/oxygenate my muscles properly! as a result, less anaerobic respiration and less lactic acid and less tiredness! zomg! haha i asked my dad just now..he said should be la. YEAHHH man i love swimming. i love med. it's so cool to just see, experience and understand the physiology of our bodies!!
